Mission Briefing[]

Reports indicate that a Darcsen village is under attack by rebels.

Defeat all enemy units in each area to drive the rebels back.

Avan, Zeri, and Mischlitt must deploy.

Strategy[]

This mission is full of fencers and tanks, so doing it early on practically necessitates bringing your own tank. An icebreaker may also prove useful to make shortcuts, but watch out for mines at the top of slopes. With a continual stream of fencers and the need to force your way forward to cap the enemy camps in each of the next two areas at the same time, use the tank and one scout in one area and hold your ground with everyone else in the other: it will take a lot of CP's to both use the tank and take down fencers with your light troops. Once you have someone close enough, blow CP to cap the enemy camp to stem the tide and clean up with the tank before transferring it to your final defensive position on the third map. It might be tempting to advance with your infantry group, but since the fencers will likely one-hit any of your team, you have to get them to sprint up near to you and then stop, so that you can counterattack in safety. Stay at the flag and watch to see where the fencers run out of move, then deploy a little short of there and take them down. Simply having Mischlitt beat them down will work, although since they might evade, spend your CP on dealing with threats to your infantry before spending them on tank moves. Keep killing them and wait for your tank to finish clearing a path for a runner. Don't let the timer put you under pressure: clearing this fast isn't likely to happen in the early game.

Aftermath[]

After the enemy is routed, Mischlitt thanks Avan, and admits that she believes he may be correct that she had erected a wall around herself. She explains she was convinced that it was impossible for her to be friends with non-Darcsens, and therefore led to her avoiding all contact unconsciously. That everyone would still come to her rescue without hesitation was moving beyond words. She vows not to give up on others so easily again.

She also admits that Avan has given her a dream, a dream of a world where race is irrelevant to peoples' relationships with each other. Avan pledges his support for the building of such a world. In return, Mischlitt gives to Avan her Darcsen doll, that protects the bearer from harm and misfortune, explaining that Darcsens give them to their closest friends.
