The "lucky" potenial is awakened in Joachim. Joachim becomes closer with Avan.

Aftermath

After the mission, Avan gathers the class. He gets ambushed from the surviving rebels, and Joachim gets shot. After an exchange of gunshots, the rebels retreat. Avan checks up on Joachim, and he is barely breathing. Joachim blames him getting shot on his bad luck. As Joachim is saying his last words, Cosette tells him to stay strong. He goes on about passing messages to his family, and the class reassures him that they will get passed.

Zeri interrupts the grieving Avan, pointing out that Joachim isn't bleeding out and his pulse is steady. He asks Joachim to sit up, and to his surprise, does so with no problems whatsoever. As he sits up, it is revealed that the figurine he won from the contest ended up taking the fatal bullet. As Joachim remains confused, Avan calls him the "luckiest guy ever!" Joachim rebukes their happiness, as he was starting to grow fond of the figurine.
