The Two Valkyria

The Two Valkyria is a downloadable content for Valkyria Chronicles 4, playable after clearing Chapter 18. The DLC is set two years before the main story and consists of two battle missions where the player will pit Valkyria against Valkyria, controlling one side and then the other. It tells a story that is canonical to the world of Valkyria Chronicles, though notably it is not clear which of the two battle mission outcomes is the one that actually took place.

Upon clearing the story, Crymaria, Nikola, Chiara, and Selvaria join Squad E as playable units (Crymaria as a Grenadier and the other three as Scouts), with unique weapons and abilities, and their swimsuits become available. Crymaria and Selvaria have the unique quality as units that they cost 2CP to command: they can be used in all storyline missions, save those that limit the character roster in a way that excludes them (for example, Squad E Assembles only allows the use of starting members of Squad E).

Nikola and Chiara are more normal Scouts and only cost 1CP to control: they have the same stats but different Potentials, and can only equip their unique "Dunkel" crossbow weapons and Schatten stun grenades. Their stun grenades cannot be used by other Squad E members, but the player also gets two more Dunkel crossbows they can issue to Scouts or Engineers if they wish to.

None of the unlockable characters carry Ragnaid.

Like all DLC characters, Selvaria, Crymaria, Nikola and Chiara cannot die, even if they are not appointed as a Leader: they also cannot be selected for the mission task in Chapter 16.

This map has a very simple condition and that is defeat Selvaria. Selvaria is basically a god tier scout unit, that can wipe out anything in a single attack, her beams has a massive range and with 22000 HP it makes her impossible to kill under ordinary means. The good thing is you get to use Crymaria for this mission. Crymaria is a Valkyria grenadier unit who can shoot magic bullets like a mortar. Her attack also hits multiple times, which can deal roughly 3000 to 5000 damage if they all directly hit. The only way you can win this mission is to have Crymaria shoot Selvaria to death. The easiest approach to clear this mission is to have Crymaria move directly pass the sandbag to the right and have her stationed there at the end of the first turn.

Before ending your turn, have Crymaria target the snipers to the upper right corner near the truck. These enemies can get be a hassle later on. Now end your turn with your CP remaining so that they can be used on the next turn. Crymaria will be locked into enemy crossfire from all different enemies, including Selvaria herself. The reason for this is when each time Crymaria HP gets lower, it might trigger her Valkryia Potential which massively boosts her stats, with Crymaria's large pool of HP, you can wait there and get shot at until her potential triggers. When that happens aim at Selvaira and fire at her. Repeat this again, by waiting for the potential to trigger and fire at Selvaria. With only three pieces of ammo, it's not only to finish Selvaria off. So you need to bring the engineer station near the camp to refill Crymaria's ammo. Also, make sure you kill the scout hiding near the wood barricade beside Crymaria as that is an enemy leader.

If this is done correctly, you can finish the mission in 2 turns.

The second mission of this DLC scenario will have the previous roles reversed. This battle requires you to defeat Crymaria under Selvaria's command. You will also start the battle from the northeast base instead. Selvaria is a very powerful unit, she is equipped with the Valkyrian lance, that can instantly destroy tanks in a single blow. Selvaria is also a scout type unit, letting her move extremely far, however, using Selvaria cost 2 CP per action. The main problem with this battle is trying to get close to Crymaria, as Crymaria can shoot magic on moving targets, it makes it dangerous to find a safe approach to get to her.

It is also possible to clear this mission in a single turn, by exploiting the Selvaria's Valkyia Potential. To use this strategy to win, simply run towards the enemy barricade of tanks. The enemy tanks can be used as a defensive shield for your own safety, so that Crymaria can't target you. When Selvaria's HP drops below half, it will activate her Valkyria potential, when this occurs, find a spot to shoot at Crymaria. Three shots aimed at Crymaria's head will finish her off if you have Valkyria Potential activated. A good place to shoot Crymaria is the tower to the left.

What you do is climb to the top of the tower by using the ladder, and each time you go back down, it will reset their line of sight for a split second. If you activate your potential and then shoot Crymaria from there, you should able to finish her in three shots. The problem with this strategy is you need all three shots to hit Crymaria's head for it to work, this stragety can fail if you miss your shots.

Another approach you can do is have Selvaria clear out all the tanks in the beginning, and then have an engineer refill her ammunition, then save the rest of the CP for the next turn. This approach can let you destroy more enemy tanks giving you more EXP when you finish the map. The things you need to be aware of is by playing it safe, Crymaria will come looking for you instead. She will usually end up on the bottom right side of the map, out of your line of sight, but doing this can let you run up to her on the second turn, as the hills next to her will block her vision. This lets you get up close to Crymaria, allowing you to shoot her at point blank. If you can't kill her within the second turn, chase her on the next turn and finish her off.
